Hey Guys!
I love Lancôme as a brand which I’ve featured in my monthly favorites (like my 2016 June Favorites). I also love that it’s one of the only high end brands that has embraced the new influencers of this digital era first with Michelle Phan back in 2010 and now choosing Lisa Eldridge as their creative director. She has fully embraced the social media youtube land and I love watching her videos.
She has put together a really cool collaboration with French fashion designer Ronia Rykiel for Lancôme Fall 2016 collection. Fashion and makeup come together how could I resist? It’s the best of both worlds in makeup form !
This collection comes with several eye shadow palettes, 4 double ended lip pencils and nail polishes.
I purchased the eye shadow palette: Saint Germain in M00 Parisian Spirit, because eye shadow palettes are my weakness when it comes to make up.
Sonia Rykiel was founded in 1968 in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. For this Fall Collection the brand was inspired by the sensuality, intelligence and irreverence of women from the Parisian left bank.

Sonia Rykiel designed the stamps on the palette to represent the most artistic neighborhood in Paris (Saint-Germain-des-Prés). The colorful drawings embody street art and really bring an edgy, playful, and modern twist to the collection.
This sleek palette features six cool shades that are perfect for fall. Purple is one of my a favorite colors so anything that leans towards, purples and burgundy will be right up my alley. I love the mixture of delicate matte and iridescent powdery eye shadows. Some palettes only offer shimmer, so the fact this one has some mattes is a definite plus.
This palette can totally be a standalone palette for a look meaning you don’t have to reach for other palettes to complete a full make-up look. This is always something to consider when buying a palette. If it doesn’t bother you to pull different products to create one look than, fine. However if you travel a lot having a single palette that you can take with you is a great quality.
Under the silver lid there is a multiuse matte base color and 2 liners. The base color is perfect for an all over base color, a brow bone highlight or an inner corner subtle highlight. For once the liner colors aren’t your basic and boring black or brown but offer an audacious twist to transition your look from day to night.
This palette comes with a removable sticker on the mirror that shows you how to create two different looks. I always find it helpful when palettes come with little tutorials or face charts. It helps if you aren’t feeling inspired that day. Most of the time, tho I enjoy coming up with my own custom looks. That’s part of the fun, don’t you agree?
You can basically apply two different color scheme looks with this palette with a variation around them :
a purply/burgundy smokey eye and
a taupy neutral eye look

The palette comes with a silver double ended eye shadow and liner brush. I usually don’t care for most brushes that come in palettes, but this one is actually usable. I won’t say it’s my favorite but it’s a decent enough brush and is useful if you were to go traveling with this palette.
Here is a look I came up with while playing around with the palette.
I find this palette a great collector’s piece if you are into collecting makeup and collabs. I won’t say it’s entirely unique or you absolutely have to purchase it. But if you want a decent fall palette with a unique fashion twist this might be the one for you.
Finally it’s a great travel palette for a short business trip or a weekend get-away. The mirror is a great size, the packaging is metal sleek and sturdy. The lid will keep the liner colors from muddying the rest of the palette, and it comes with a usable double sided brush. As you know I love travel so this is a great option to consider.
What is your favorite fall palette so far? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to know!
Xoxo
