I traveled to the Big Apple at the beginning of the month with some friends from work. While there I decided to stock up on some of my favorite drugstore products that can’t be found in France. I went to three different drugstores to cover all the bases haha !
Rite Aid : With us, it’s personal
Julie G Nail Polishes
The main reason I wanted to go to Rite Aid, was so I could finally pick up some Julie G nail polishes from the Jessie’s girl line. I’ve been following Julie G on YouTube for years now and love her videos (if you don’t know her yet go and check her out!). I wanted to support her and also test them out for myself. Once I’ve played with them a little bit, I’ll be sure to post a review.
So I decided to go for two different polishes from two different lines at $3.99 each.
The Jelly Bean finish
The Jelly Bean finish from the Candy Shoppe collection which is her take on the jelly finish. I chose the color in Lolli Pop. It’s a great fall color in a darker yet still vibrant burgundy purple.
The Cream finish
The second polih I chose is a Cream finish from the Core Collection which is her permanent line. The color that drew me was Platform Wedges. The website describes it as a “subdued brown shade great when you’ll be one with the earth”. I just didn’t have anything like it my collection and thought it would make a nice addition for fall. It reminds me of Particulière by Chanel but a little tanner.
TRESemmé Nourishing Moisture conditioner
While I was in Rite Aid, I decided to check out the hair conditioners, which is a product that I’m always on the lookout for a new holy grail (see my previous Fall Essentials post). I picked out the TRESemmé Nourishing Moisture conditioner from their Naturals line. It contains aloe vera and avocado and was recommended to me by a friend. It claims to give you 10x stronger hair and less breakage. I’ve always liked the TRESemmé brand so I have high hopes for it. It’s hypoallergenic, sillicone free and safe for color treated hair.
Walgreens : Your home for prescriptions
Jordana liquid felt tip eyeliner
I’ve never tried anything for the Jordana brand, and thought well here is the prefect occasion. I love liquid liner with a felt tip and decided to try this out. My favorite is the Kat Von D in Trooper so if I can find a cheaper alternative, I’m all in! I’ve only tried it a few times but it definielty isn’t as black and pigmented as the Kat Von D one. But it seems reasonably budge proof for a drugstore product.
Revlon Color Stay liquid foundation
I’ve had the Revlon Color Stay for normal to dry and love it, so this time I wanted to try out the one made for oily combination skin which is what my skin type is.
TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo
Volumizing Dry Shampoo is a must have in my day to day hair products, so I decided to pick this one up and test it out. As stated above I enjoy the TRESemmé line and am pretty sure I will like it. It doesn’t leave any white cast or residue in the hair, as mine is dark this is a deal breaker for me when it’s not the case.
MUA lipstick
This post is about alot of firsts, as I’ve never tried anything from MUA before. A girl can never have too many lippies so I thought this would be the perfect product to test out this brand with.
Milani Liptstick
The color I chose 42 Dusty Rose is a pretty good dupe for a Kylie Jenner style lip.

CVS : Shop for wellness
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
This is one hyped up product on YouTube so I’ve got to try it out. Do you like it? Mascara is one make up item where you don’t have to go the high-end route in my opinion. I’m just picky with mine because most mascaras tend to smudge on me and my oily lids haha!
NYX Butter Gloss
I picked up the color Crème Brulée. This also is a pretty hyped product but I’ve already worn it a couple times and can already say it’s really worth the hype. As you know from my lip balm post I have very sensitive lips that are prone to peeling. This gloss is very hydrating and is really comfortable to wear. The color the perfect nudy pink that gives just the right amount of color to keep you from being washed out. Love!
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

I thought this color was going to be a muted nudy color, but boy was I wrong! This lip cream is very pigmented and reminds me of the liquid lipstick formula. The matte isn’t too drying on the lips but I need to wear it over a lip balm and reapply a lip balm on top of it.
Sèche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat
I’ve dedicated an entire post to this top coat which I love. Enough said I had to stock up and bought several. 🙂
Chi Silk Infusion
As stated about in the Rite Aid section, I’m on a conditioner and hair oil kick so I’ve picked up bunch of different kinds in preparation for an overall review.
This claims to be a silk reconstructing complexe.
Biosilk Silk Therapy
I’ve had this from a friends recommendation for a while and just ran out. Since it’s hard to get your hands on in Paris, I stocked up on this one and bought several. I love it as it helps nourish the hair and adds a beautiful shine. It even acts as a de-tangler and keeps your breakage to a minimum. Love, love, love!
Macadmia Healing Oil Spray
This oil claims to heal, shine and protect the hair. I’ve never tried this product but my favorite hair mask is the Macadamia one. So I’m curious to try out this spray.
It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Light
This product claims to have 10 miracle benefits for your hair. This is the light version, which I’ve never tried before. I’ll test it out and let know in a future post.
What are your favorite drugstore products you stock up on?

[…] A friend introduced me to this product while I was vacationing in Montenegro with her. She always had great hair and no frizz. I asked her what her secret was and ever since I’ve been using it. It isn’t easy to get your hands on in France but it is possible especially on some flash sale sites like Beatéprivée (kind of like Hautelook), which I can do a post on if you want. I also stoked up on this bad boy in my NYC Drugstore Haul. […]
