Time flies by and it’s high time for my belated February Favorites, feels like I just did my January Favorites last week 🙂 !
Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color in 85 Sepia
As I’m sure you know, Burberry makeup is now sold at Sephora ! Yipee! This is the perfect excuse to try out the lipstick range with a VIB discount. I chose the perfect my lips but better shade for the winter : Sepia n°85. It’s slightly deeper than the regular my lips but better shades. It’s a stunning rosy nude with hints of brown in it.
What I love about the Burberry Kisses line is that it’s a hydrating formula which is the top criteria for me when looking into lip sticks, but on top of that it’s unique in the sense it can deliver a customizable look. When applied lightly it’ll have a sheer effect with just a slight wash of color over the lips. Kind of like the Sheer Revolution Lipsticks by Urban Decay. But apply it more intensely and you can easily build it up to a very vibrant color. I love versatility in products and this one really delivers. It glides on very smoothly on the lips and is very comfortable to wear.
Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner
Since I have oily/combo skin, I love products that help giving a matte effect to the skin. This toner works quite well at cleaning the skin removing any traces of cleanser, make up and impurities. I only use it once a day in the morning because I have a feeling it would be too harsh on my skin to use it twice. It has a “shake to activate” formula so all the ingredients are well blended prior to use. I do recommend following with a good moisturizer. I find it helps in keeping the oil at bay along with my other beauty products.
Wet n’ Wild – Color Icon in Lust palette
This palette is discontinued but you can still get your hands on it on the web. I want to keep it real here in my favorites, so even though it’s harder to find, this is what I’ve been truly loving this month. If you’ve read my 2nd Liebster Award post then you know I love purple. So this should come as no surprise.
I believe Wet n’ Wild makes the best drugstore shadows on the market at the best price. This palette has three matte shades and three satin to glitter shades. My favorite palette must have a blend of matte and sparkly shades. I never do a full on glitter look, I need to have mattes to round it out. This is perfect as it has different finishes and the shadows are pigmented. Some are slightly on the chalky side and the glitter shade will definitely give you some fall out. But for the price, I don’t mind.
A great plus if you are into MAC shadows but don’t want to splurge, this palette offers you the following dupes :
The first matte color is a very light, pastel, baby pink. It is said to be a dupe for MAC’s “Yogurt” eye shadow, which I don’t own.The second matte color is a beautiful purple. It is said to be a dupe for MAC’s “Fig 1” eye shadow. The third matte eye shadow is a brilliant blackened-purple, with the intensity of a pitch black night! It is an exact dupe for MAC’s “Shadowy Lady” eye shadow.
The second shimmery color is almost like a black with slight purple undertones, and amazing red-purple glitters. This color is said to be comparable to MAC’s “Beauty Marked” eye shadow which I own and it’s true they are quite close. The third shimmery eye shadow is charcoal grey, that’s very frosty. This is said to be comparable to MAC’s “Knight Divine” eye shadow.
Ojon Rare Blend Oil – Total Hair Therapy
In winter your hair is also treated roughly but the colder weather. I love using hair oils to maintain the softness of my hair. The one I’ve been loving this month is by Ojon. It boasts a rich multi-action hair oil treatment. The formula features three hair-reparative phases: Amber, Crystal & Red Formulated with Ojon Oil. You need to shake it up before using it. I can say it really does bring moisture to my hair. You do have to be careful to not over apply or you will weigh your hair down and even have it looking slightly greasy. but with just the right amount, it does wonders for your hair. I really love this oil.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in 03 Black Wine
I love doing my nails in this warm deep burgundy color. I feel it’s a great winter shade and quite classy that you can easily wear to the office. It doesn’t chip and the polish applies evenly.
